” I just laid off 15 people because of health care. I was providing full insurance to everyone free.” this quote comes from this guy who works and has his own business..what are some reason he had to laid off his workers? i know he is providing free insurance but why laid all those people off?

I don’t believe that. Frankly, the only employers that provide FREE full insurance to everyone, that I’ve ever seen, are public school districts or municipalities – and not many of those any more, either.
BUT. The average family plan costs $1200 per month, per employee. So, that’s an extra $14,400 PER EMPLOYEE of cost. It goes up every year. If he was paying the full cost last year, though, then the fact that he insures them fully this year isn’t what made him lay them off – clearly, there are OTHER financial issues with his business.
